Playing with light and shadow here, I found myself falling in love with the warm chocolate browns and rich russets of the sand. So used to painting the greens and blues of forests and mountains, the barren beauty of the desert felt like a space between two breaths.
There's something deeply calming about its simplicity. No trees. No lakes. Just rolling forms, light, shadow, and silence. I love looking at it simply for the contrast.
