Rolling With the Sun was inspired by a loved one’s journey through the Himalayas—stories of vast, open landscapes where the weather moves quickly and the light never stays still for long.
What drew me in was the contrast. The sky feels restless, almost unsettled. But the land beneath it remains grounded—steady, quiet, enduring.
As the sunlight cuts through the clouds, it rolls across the hills, pulling out a surprising richness in the greens. That became the heart of the painting.
I found myself focused on how light behaves across distance—how elevation, slope, and depth create subtle shifts in colour. No two sections of the landscape carry the same green. Each one changes with the light.
